What exactly is a "Fractional COO"?
A Fractional COO is a seasoned executive who handles your operations, team management, and strategic execution for a fraction of the time (and cost) of a full-time hire. You get the experience of a C-suite executive for a fraction of the cost.
When is the right time to bring you in?
Usually when you hit "The Scaling Wall" (typically between 15-30 employees) or right after a funding round, where your current systems can no longer support your headcount.
How do you integrate with my existing executive team?
I work with your executive team to work 'on your business'. Where it makes sense I work with your staff 'in your business' for specific deliverables. My goal is to be a seamless extension of your leadership.
How much of my time will this require?
My goal is to give you back a decent number of hours a week. After an initial onboarding period, our cadence is designed to be high-impact/low-friction for you.
Can you also provide mentoring?
With my extensive experience both you and your team will get mentoring as part of the work we do together.
In some cases I have a formal mentoring role with named individuals too.
How much does it cost?
With over 30 years of working experience, what you pay for is my expertise. Billing rates are commensurate with the value I bring.
What happens when we are ready for a full-time COO?
Success for me looks like outgrowing me. I often help my clients define the role, interview candidates, and ensure a smooth 30-day handover to your permanent hire.
